Here we have Sudden Rush, Pulverizing Blow, Dashing Wallop, Minotaur Rush, Breaching Rush, and Charged Shot. The following guide will take you through everything you need to know about the Daedalus Hammer, including the different skills that the Daedalus Hammer will provide you. However, its great with a variety of different casting abilities, including Aphrodites, which is typically underwhelming due to its short range. What I like the most about Ferocious Guard is the fact that players will get used to blocking and will be able to still deal a decent amount of damage, especially because it wont matter where or how that damage occurs or comes from. Note that players will not be able to combine Explosive Shot with Flurry Shot or Chain Shot and that the damage increase is additive. Super Nova is an upgrade I typically avoid, as Im not someone who relies on the Stygian Blades Special. Nectar, an earlier version of Ambrosia, is sufficient for getting the keepsakes Zag needs. If you want to read my opinions on the Anvil of Fates I strongly recommend that you check out my post on Artifacts. It can also be useful for players who are stacking damage on their Special and hoping to use it as their main source of damage. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. Once you get used to dash-striking and releasing your arrow at the right moment for a power-shot, you'll quickly realise just how insanely strong this bow can be. Hold the attack button and release it to charge forwards, a move that can also be used to cross rivers of lava or slip through walls. Different things work for different people - just remember to choose your Boons based on your weapon, and to concentrate on designing a coherent build as you progress through the Underworld. With Massive Spin, players will be able to deal 125% extra damage with their Spin attack and will also gain a 30% radius on their Spin Attack, making it very powerful. The Hammer's upgrades vary from weapon to weapon, with some being minor adjustments and others shifting the playstyle of the weapon entirely. You lunge forward when you use your Special; use again to lunge back. The only downfall to the Cluster Bomb is that their damage radius is smaller, though due to how spread out they are, this isnt really a major downfall. Your Special becomes Magnetic Cutter; its pull deals 20 damage. I wouldnt deter you away from this upgrade, its just not for me personally. Highest DPS hammers for Chaos shield are probably Charged Shot and Explosive Return. Max shots per Special: (3/4/5/6/7), Your Cast loads Cast Ammo into your next Attack, firing on impact. Uppercut has a long recovery and no invulnerability frames. With Dash Nova, instead of jumping and damaging enemies, players will lunge ahead, dealing damage and becoming Sturdy for 0.8 seconds. Wearing a Keepsake from an Olympian ensures that Zagreus is more likely to meet the god that gave it to him, and therefore be able to build his weapon using their Boons. Your Special hits a wider area and deals +20% damage. It should be noted that Chain Shot cannot be combined with Explosive Shot. Chain Shot greatly increases the amount of Area of Effect your Attack has, causing it to bounce across enemies dealing 15% damage for each enemy hit. Im sorry for being lazy. Still, that requires two hammers to buff the special enough to make it really good. Ill be honest, this one is a bit of a hit and a miss for me. Breaching Skewer, in my opinion, is a must have. It should be noted that players cannot combine Quake Cutter with Kinetic Launcher and will also be unable to acquire it if they are running the Aspect of Demeter. Empowering Flight is interestingly a great upgrade to have as players will be able to make use of the rotation that they use to deal damage to enemies. I'm not sure how dashing flight works with the aspect of chaos but it could potentially be good. But, like the weapons themselves, these Aspects must be unlocked by spending Titan Blood - a rare resource you obtain only by completing boss battles during your runs. If I remember correctly, it also allows you to bull rush sooner after an attack (you don't have to hold attack as long for it to trigger bull rush), which is amazing. In my opinion this can be great for players, especially due to the issue of players getting overwhelmed with mobs before they fully reach a player especially because it can be easy for players to get overwhelmed while wielding a ranged weapon that needs to be charged up. If you use Bull Rush to activate the Chaos aspect bonus, then activate Dashing Flight, only the center shield will become faster and deal extra damage. Triple Bomb is another all time favourite for me as it provides players with the ability to shoot their Special 3 times in rapid succession. Your Holy Excalibur aura is +45% larger; makes foes +10% slower (Aspect of Arthur). Admittedly, early on in my gameplay of Hades, I thought that the Daedalus Hammer provided useless upgrades, simply because the few times I had actually chosen it as a reward, I got mediocre rolls on the upgrades. Contents hide S Tier - Best Hades Shield Aspects Aspect of Chaos A Tier - Best Hades Shield Aspects Aspect of Beowulf B Tier - Best Hades Shield Aspects Aspect of Zeus C Tier - Best Hades Shield Aspects Aspect of Zagreus S Tier - Best Hades Shield Aspects Aspect of Chaos It's like a weaker but more active version of Empowering Flight. Instead of having the typical attacks, players will now have a Big Chop that deals more DPS, though acts slower. It should be noted that players will not be able to use Explosive Upper with Kinetic Launcher. It should be noted that players will not be able to activate Shadow Slash with their Dash-Strike and that the damage dealt from Shadow Slash is actually additive. With Hazard Bomb players will deal 300% base damage with their Special, though they will take 1% damage to themselves when in the area. Certain Upgrades are more useful for the best Hades shield builds than others. The player has to equip the shield in the house and interact with its information screen to activate the Aspect. She dabbles in various genres and creates everything from short blog posts to serialized novels. Personally, I consider Coronacht to be the best weapon in Hades. While you Dash, your Special is faster and deals +100% damage. Also, sadly players cannot use it with the Aspect of Lucifer making me quite frustrated. Your Attack pierces foes and deals +50% damage to Armor. After landing 12 strikes, your next Special hits more times (+1/2/3/4/5), You have the Claws of Enkidu, whose Dash-Upper can maim foes for bonus damage (100/175/200/325/400). With Explosive Fire players will deal damage in an area instead of a single target and will briefly slow enemies. Catching all the shields will only deal area damage once. Unyielding Defense for the hidden aspect is one of the worst hammers in my opinion. Players should note that Dashing Flight cannot be combined with Charged Flight and will not be able to use it with the Aspect of Zeus. Players will want avoid this upgrade if they already have ways of dealing with an enemys Armour. Essentially with Cluster Bomb players will shoot out 5 Bombs using their Special, all at once in spread out pattern. Holy Excalibur features different attacks which deal increased damage but no longer knockback; and your Special creates an aura around its detonation point which provides damage reduction, disables traps, and dramatically slows enemy projectiles. With Quake Cutter, players will deal 90 damage after using their Special, dealing AoE damage where they land, but this can be extremely useful when against mobs that flood you, essentially being able to completely shatter them if you have enough damage on your Special. Reveal the Aspect of Beowulf by meeting the following requirements: The form in which the shield of chaos first revealed itself. Your Special becomes an advancing kick that also deals 40 damage twice. I will be primarily evaluating hammers based on this assumption, though Charged Flight, for example, could turn the special into your one-button build with a good enough boon. Initially, the shield's powers are mainly defensive in nature. Hazard Bomb is a lovely upgrade to have, however, players should note that this is one of the only upgrades that will make a players Special actually harm the player. I personally find Bull Rush to be a bit clunky without hammers like this or Charged Shot, so even though it doesn't strictly increase damage, making the weapon easier and faster while also increasing your mobility is definitely a solid hammer. Essentially the Sniper Shot is like a guaranteed Critical Attack, though players should note that they will have to attack enemies that are further than 675 distance away. The Aspect of Beowulf has a unique move-set which changes the fighting style of the Shield of Chaos. The damage radius is pretty large sitting at 275. Dashing Wallop is an interesting upgrade to take as it will increase a players Dash Attack by 50%. While not the best tactic, if players are struggling with dodging enemies, they can use the Piercing Wave to deal damage from afar. Your Bull Rush instead fires a piercing shot that deals 80 damage. It's one of several ways to build each of the Infernal Arms when putting together the best Hades shield build. Exploding Launcher is a very interesting upgrade for players to choose as it changes the way that a players Special works. In my opinion, Breaching Slash is one of the better upgrades players can receive with the Daedalus Hammer as it will allow players to get through the third and fourth area of Hades a lot easier. *Blitz Disc will move through foes until stopping in place for 10 seconds or until Special is pressed again, at which point it travels back to Zagreus. Some players prefer a more defensive build or maybe a combination that provides better ranged or melee abilities. The Aspect of Chaos is one of the first Aspects you can unlock for the Aegis, and it's a good one. Let me know in the comments below! It should be noted that Flurry Slash cannot be obtained if payers have World Splitter or Cruel Thrust. The only technical re-roll players will have access to is using the Anvil of Fates. It should be noted that Rush Kick will shoot a player forward, being able to avoid low barriers, though because of this it can be a bit difficult to control, so just be ready. If fewer than two hammers have been acquired upon entering the Temple of Styx, it is possible for one to be found there. Although up to two Hammers will always be offered, it is not guaranteed they will be offered again, should Zagreus choose to not take it. The reward for completing this is a generous helping of gemstones, the currency often used when buying new renovations from the house contractor. An Aspect will not only change the appearance of the Shield of Chaos, but will also improve its attacks. Players will also not be able to use this if they have the Aspect of Lucifer. Bombs will be fired in a 150 fashion, firing from right to left. With Serrated Point, players will be able to deal damage with their Dash-Strike 3 times, though they will lose 25% of their range while Dashing. In addition, your Special throws an irretrievable, piercing firework in a straight line. With Power Rush players will be dealing 500% extra damage, ultimately making the Power Rush a very good source of damage, especially if players upgrade it with other means. Boost, Super Nova also makes your special deal damage in a wider area probably be guard. This cannot always be the case, so just be aware of it as Explosive Return is pretty niche. To further clarify the locations of the Daedalus Hammers, players will only be able to locate a single one in Tartarus or Asphodel (the first two locations) and will be able to receive the second one in Elysium, the third location. Which is a strange idea, because the weapon is nothing without the Boons, Aspects, and Daedalus Upgrades that go with it. There's also a block ability that's combined with the special attack, Bull Rush, in which Zagreus can charge enemies with his shield for both damage and defense. With Breaching Rush, players will deal 400% damage to Armour, essentially making it so players can more accessibly defeat enemies quickly without spending too much time trying to break the Armour. Would speed the hades best hammer upgrades for shield Shields as well the mix and improves your trusty tool to perform on. Much like many of the other upgrades, the damage dealt by Extending Jab is going to be additive, though it is extremely useful, especially for those who arent interested in a tank and spank. Repulse Shot is an upgrade that is only available when players have the Aspect of Rama, causing the Celestial Sharanga Attack, which usually causes shared suffering (damaging all enemies marked every time one is hit) to also cause a Blast Wave around the player. Players will be able to rely on the Special to remove the Armour off of all enemies, especially if players are using the Aspect that causes all Special attacks to target the last hit enemy. It depends on the specific Hades shield build when it comes to Boons, but the player can try all of them, so provided they use the Aegis enough, they can check off all the boxes eventually. This one transforms the shield's moveset in more subtle ways compared to other hidden aspects. The Long Knuckle is quite a nice upgrade to have on your Twin Fists as it both increases your range and will provide players with a 10% damage boost. Empowering Flight, like Explosive Return, is best used when you're using special to complement attack. It must be noted that players will not be able to acquire Point-Blank Shot if they already have Sniper Shot. Hold Attack to shoot rapidly, but you cannot Power Shot. Players may also see the Anvil of Fates in tandem with the Daedalus Hammer, meaning that players may want to purchase the Anvil of Fates before the Daedalus Hammer if they already have an upgrade they hate and want changed out. This is extra helpful in the last stage before defeating Hades as the hoards of mobs tend to be difficult to defeat when using the Adamant Rail. However, Zag can still freely switch between aspects after unlocking them. Players should note that Dread Flight will not work with Aspect of Zeus and will not work with Chaos Aspects multi-shield Special, though if players are using Chaos Aspect, they will still be able to use it for the normal Special. You'll have to become well-versed in manually reloading your weapon at the right moment, but after that - and with some good upgrades - not much can withstand Exagryph. Ill be honest, Im mostly a fan of this one because I like to dodge attack while weaving in damage using my Special, however, this choice is merely going to depend on a players play style. While players will deal 300% damage in an area, players will lose the speed in which the Heart-Seeking Bow charges, essentially making it take 100% longer to charge. It can be good with a Poseidon Boon that has Knockback, but realistically Im not very impressed. Keep . Eh. Like all other weapons, each Aspect has 5 levels that can be unlocked by spending Titan Blood. Kinetic Launcher is another upgrade that needs to be charged, making it one I avoid. Draining Cutter is quite frankly one of the hardest upgrades players can get using the Daedalus Hammer. Players who are more skilled will want to use their Special any time they have to reload, so if players are looking for ideal damage, they can choose that. Other than that, its just a very standard and somewhat boring playstyle. Try them out, experiment with them, and see what suits. lava). I hate the Spin Attack. Players should note that Hazard Bomb cannot be combined with Rocket Bomb, Cluster Bomb or Triple Bomb and players will not be able to use it if they have the Aspect of Lucifer. Not only will you have more shields to toss, but they hit more enemies before returning as well. Anything that gives your Dash some measure of power is also recommended, especially if you're playing with Pacts. Players will want to make sure if they want a good amount of healing to regularly weave their Special in and will also want to make sure that their Special has a good amount of damage as the Special takes a bit of time to charge, meaning that players cannot simply spam the Special to burst down enemies. Coronacht is probably the weapon I've had most success with in Hades. It's a handy way to deal extra damage to your target and nearby foes, and the slow charge time is offset by the Aegis' excellent ability to block incoming damage while you charge. Ammo drop time: (10/8/6.67/6.15/5s). This hammer would be much stronger, in my opinion, if it was something like +40% base damage for your next two attacks. Dash-strike is your bread and butter. Choose carefully, as some Upgrades are incompatible with certain Boons and Aspects. Whenever your Special slays foes, restore 2% life. Your Serpent Slash ability travels longer (Aspect of Guan Yu). Dread Flight can be useful if players are stacking damage on their Special, though realistically the best use for it is if players have a Status Curse on their Special such as Hangover or Doom as using your Special primarily for damage isnt really a great option for the Shield of Chaos. Shadow Slash is an upgrade that more skilled players will want to focus on. In reality, this trade off is still phenomenal because youll never be stuck in a situation where you have to reload and essentially switch over to your Special Damage. The one which buffs your special ideally. With Charged Flight players will be able to hold down their Special to charge it and essentially deal 200% more damage. Reaching the highest level in all Aspects requires 51 Titan Blood. Unfortunately players will not be given any bonuses to their Dash-Strike or Bull Rush damage, though given the fact that players will mostly be using their Bash to attack, the Pulverizing Blow is not the worst upgrade a player can take. Winged Serpent is an Aspect of Guan Yu exclusive upgrade that will provide players with the ability to allow the Frost Fair Blade Spin Attack to travel 80% longer. Each weapon requires a certain number of Keys to unlock: Do note that the more expensive weapons aren't necessarily stronger than the cheaper weapons.
